Romina Fakhraei, MSc

Romina Fakhraei recently completed her Master’s in Epidemiology at the University of Ottawa (2019), but has been a member of the OMNI research group since 2014. While completing her degree, she was awarded the $15,000 Ontario Graduate Scholarship and held a teaching assistantship. Ms. Fakhraei’s thesis project, which was part of a larger CIHR-funded research project led by Dr. Deshayne Fell, utilized health administrative databases at ICES to assess obstetrical and perinatal outcomes associated with pertussis vaccination during pregnancy. 
Ms. Fakhraei has been involved with maternal-child research for the past 5 years, participating in a variety tasks including patient recruitment in clinical studies, qualitative and quantitative analyses, grant preparations and manuscript publications. Her research areas of interest include maternal vaccination, global health, and patient engagement through health technology
