Sandra Dunn, RN, PhD

Senior Clinical Research Associate

Sandra earned her Bachelor of Nursing Science degree at Queens University, her Masters of Education and Masters of Nursing degrees at the University of Ottawa, and her Doctorate in Nursing at the University of Ottawa with a focus on knowledge translation and shared decision making. She has published on a number of topics including: knowledge translation and use of clinical practice guidelines, interprofessional shared decision making, decision coaching, breastfeeding, data quality assessment, fetal fibronectin testing, noise reduction in NICU, clinical dashboard development, and use of audit and feedback for quality improvement.  

In addition to her role at OMNI, Dr. Dunn is the Knowledge Translation Specialist for the Better Outcomes Registry & Network (BORN Ontario). As a member of the Data Analysis & Research Team at BORN she has been involved in the development and implementation of the Maternal Newborn Dashboard and other standard clinical reports available in the BORN Information System designed to facilitate use of the data for quality improvement.
